Practical tips from experienced players — not a guarantee of winning, but they'll help you play smarter
Playing in late position (button or cutoff) gives you a significant edge since you act after your opponents. Use this to make better-informed decisions.
Don't play every hand. Focus on premium holdings like AA, KK, QQ, AK and mid-range pairs. Fold weak hands early to minimise losses.
Consistent bet sizing makes it harder for opponents to read your hand. Avoid betting too small — it invites more players to see the flop with marginal hands.
Poker is a game of decisions, not pure luck. If you take a bad beat in a big hand, take a moment to calm down before continuing. Playing emotionally almost always leads to further losses.
Decide how much you're willing to lose in a single session before you start. Once you hit that limit, stop — no exceptions. This is the most important discipline in poker.
Watch your opponents' betting patterns from the early hands. A player who constantly check-raises likely has a strong hand. Identify the player types at your table and adjust your strategy accordingly.

Poker is more than a game of luck — it's a game of skill, strategy, and psychology. Unlike other casino games where you play against the house, in poker you play against other players. That means your skill level genuinely shapes your long-term results. At 22bb Club, we built a poker platform that lets Malaysian players sharpen their skills while enjoying a safe and engaging gaming experience.
Texas Hold'em is the most popular poker variant in Malaysia and around the world, and 22bb Club offers Texas Hold'em tables across a full range of blind sizes to suit every type of player. From micro-stakes tables with blinds as low as RM0.50/RM1 for beginners, all the way to VIP tables with RM200/RM400 blinds for experienced players seeking a bigger challenge — all available simultaneously on our platform, running 24 hours a day.
For those interested in the tournament format, 22bb Club hosts over 30 poker tournaments every month, including the monthly Malaysian Poker Championship series with prize pools of up to RM50,000. Tournaments are especially appealing because your risk is capped at the buy-in — no matter what happens at the table, you can never lose more than what you paid to enter. This makes tournaments an excellent choice for players who want tighter control over their bankroll.
One of the most valued features among players 22bb Club is a weekly freeroll held every Sunday night at 21:00 MYT. This free tournament is open to all registered members and offers a real-money prize pool of RM5,000. It's the ideal way to enjoy the thrill of tournament poker without putting up any of your own money. Special freerolls are also held during Malaysian public holidays such as Hari Raya and Malaysia Day, with even larger prize pools.
Convenient deposits and withdrawals are a key reason why 22bb Club the top choice for Malaysian poker players. For deposits, you can use Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, DuitNow, Maybank2u, or CIMB Clicks. All methods are processed within seconds and credited instantly to your poker account. For withdrawals, funds are settled within 5 to 10 minutes to your e-wallet or 15 to 30 minutes to your bank account — among the fastest in the industry.
Rakeback programme 22bb Club provides real, tangible rewards for active poker players. Every time you play at a cash game table, a small portion of the rake is returned to you as a rakeback bonus. Your rakeback rate increases with your level of activity — starting at 15% for regular players and going up to 30% for Diamond VIP members. The more you play, the more you save in the long run.
For new players who have never played poker before, 22bb Club offers free practice tables where you can play with free chips and no real money involved. It's the ideal way to learn the rules, understand hand rankings and get a feel for the game before playing with real money. We also provide a basic strategy guide in Bahasa Malaysia, accessible directly from your account.
Security is the top priority at 22bb Club. Our platform is equipped with an advanced collusion detection system that monitors the betting patterns of all players in real time. If two or more players are found to be working together to cheat others, their accounts will be suspended immediately and investigated. We also employ a bot detection system to ensure every player at the table is a real human, not a computer program. Our commitment to fair play is the foundation of trust the Malaysian poker community places in our platform.
